Mission Highlights

Our ministry assignment in the New York City metro area involved working with three different congregations in the borough of Queens: (1) a Hispanic congregation called Igelisa Neuva Vida (New Life) with Pastor Walter Valencia; (2) a Hispanic congregation called Iglesia Bautista Canaan with Pastor Juan Carlos Suero; (3) a Chinese/Korean congregation called WBC (World Benediction Church) with pastor Gwang H. Lee. It was a joyous blessing to work with these men of God and the wonderful people of each congregation.

NYC is a marvelous and amazing city! The Big Apple never sleeps but the eyes of so many are blinded to the glorious light of the gospel. Jesus instructed His followers to take the gospel from our neighborhoods to the nations. (Acts 1:8) A trip to NYC reveals that the nations have come to our neighborhoods. PRAY for the committed believers in NYC as they labor to fulfill the Great Commission in their neighborhood.

Our host pastor (Walter Valencia) is bi-vocational so the TIME team used the each morning for personal evangelism and track distribution.  Our efforts were concentrated in the areas of Grand Central Station, China Town, Little Italy and the Flushing area where the WBC church is located. A large number of Asians (especially Chinese, Koreans & Vietnamese) continue to move into the area. We distributed hundreds of tracks to these diverse and heavily populated areas.

At the WBC church it was a special blessing to be asked to PRAY for two new converts just before the baptism of one of the young men.  

TRAINING is a vital part of the TIME Ministry everywhere we go across the globe. Training sessions, including motivation in Great Commission theology, were conducted each night at two different churches locations. A new church planter attended one session and became very excited at the presentation. He proclaimed, “My wife and I recently asked the Lord to give us new ideas to reach people and this is the answer to our prayers!” All together there were 12 different congregations represented in the evening training sessions.

PRAY for three upcoming T.I.M.E. mission crusades to Kampala, Uganda (August 16-25); Jinja, Uganda (September 6-15) and Nairobi, Kenya (October 18-26). The mission to Kampala in August will be very demanding in logistical preparation and finances! We will take a team of 20 people for the purpose of construction, school presentations, street evangelism rallies, pastor training and a HUGE outdoor crusade each night. Please PRAY for thousands to be saved! Also, PRAY about giving a SPECIAL SUMMER HARVEST OFFERING to help support this awesome opportunity to take the good news of Jesus to the hurting, helpless and hopeless people of the world.
