T.I.M.E. Ministries was begun in 1996 by Dr. Dick Thomassian. As a sfaff member of Whitesburg Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, Dick led people on mission trips all over the world. While on a mission trip Brother Dick was encouraged by his uncle to increase the frequency of mission trips because he saw the sucess of the harvest and the important role that short-term mission trips played in bringing people into the kingdom of God. This desire soon became a vision. After prayer and advice from many Godly people it was decided that a new ministry that focused on missions and evangelism was needed to accomplish this vision. Application was made and T.I.M.E. was legally constituted as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization in 1996. T.I.M.E. was accepted as a member of the ECFA, Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, in 2004. As a member of EFCA the Ministry of T.I.M.E. accepts a high standard of financial accountability.
What is T.I.M.E. Ministries?
T.I.M.E. is a missions ministry that partners with local churches to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20). The staff of this ministry equipps and leads volunteers, who agree to pay a portion of their way, on short-term mission trips in America and to the ends of the earth to fulfill the purpose of the organization.
The Purpose Statement of T.I.M.E. is simply:
T.I.M.E. is committed to teach and demonstrate mission evangelism through the local church body as they utilize human and financial resources committed to them in spreading the Gospel of Christ to every people group and nation. We believe that Jesus will return to planet earth just as He promised and therefore there is an urgency in sharing the good news about Jesus. Thus, as long as opportuntity, human and financial resources are available, T.I.M.E. teams will "go forth" into the harvest fields.
T.I.M.E. exists "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:12)
